Charity Ride Spotlight: Cancer Research Institute

PLESE TELL US ABOUT YOUR ORGANIZATION:

Cancer Research Institute is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to saving more lives by fueling the discovery and development of powerful immunotherapies for all types of cancer.

WHAT INITIATIVES DO THE FUNDS RAISED SUPPORT?

Funds raised support breakthrough cancer immunotherapy research and patient education resources.

WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO HOST A CHARITY RIDE AT SWERVE?

CRI chose to do a charity ride at SWERVE since it was convenient for our local corporate partners and supporters to travel to the venue for a fun athletic event. The team splits fostering friendly competition, the ability to host a post ride reception, and the option to offer riders custom smoothies were key deciding factors in selecting SWERVE over other studios.

SWERVE has provided high quality customer service, and CRI has worked with the studio to host four charity rides over the past two years which raised over $200,000.

WHAT WAS THE RESPONSE TO YOUR EVENT?

Cyclists were excited to ride with their friends and colleagues for a worthy cause. Even individuals that don’t usually cycle were excited to attend since the ride is challenging yet open to riders of all experience levels. People are already looking forward to participating in next year’s event!

WHAT WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE EVENT AT SWERVE?

It’s rewarding to see the satisfaction on cyclists’ sweaty faces after finishing an intense 45-minute workout to raise funds for cancer immunotherapy research. People are exhausted but feel good knowing they were able to get fit and give back.

HOW WAS THIS EVENT UNIQUE?

The charity rides are easier to organize since SWERVE takes care of setting up the ride and ensuring cyclists are registered. The SWERVE team is responsive, accommodating, and always prepared to make suggestions on how to best work through any issues that arise.
